Autumn Orange
One of the reasons for visiting Melbourne, besides just wanting to see the city, was to visit some friends of mine who I had worked with a couple years earlier. In 2005 I worked for Heavenly Ski Resort in South Lake Tahoe, California. It was a great experience. not only did I get to ski all season long for free and sometimes even get paid for it, I also had the opportunity to make many new friends from South America and Australia. A lot of the workers at ski resorts are college aged students from the southern hemisphere who come up to live, work and play in America for their summer break. It is a great experience for them and they usually either break even, or save some extra cash for travel around the states afterwords. I thoroughly enjoyed meeting such great people and hope to continue keeping in touch in the future.
This picture was taken in one of my friends yards around sunset. She was gracious enough to let me stay with her family and show me around the city. She also took me on a hike and to an Australian Rules Football game which I actually liked more than American Football. I hope to visit Australia again for a longer stay and visit my friends there again.
See it big here.
